Sunday Will Come!

Contemporary Nigeria is on a wave of protests. The unconventional election of Sunday Goodwill, a man whose palpable honesty inflames wide popular support, will affect the family life of Junior, the seventeen-year-old protagonist.

Following a life-changing event, Junior is affected by a severe PTSD. He is a frail and insecure boy, who has to deal with a vitriolic stepmother and with his inability to court Abele, the new house help. But not only. Junior wishes to gain his father’s affection back — after the family’s move from Enugu to Lagos, affection has inexplicably vanished from the blissful relationship they once had.

Bliss, following the election of Sunday Goodwill (a man deeply hated by Junior’s father), could not be what Junior experienced. Not with the mystery hovering his father’s allegations. Not with the sudden resurfacing of estranged family members, against whom Junior’s father holds the stiffest of grudges.

Little does Junior know that the biggest test of all is not to rewind life back to what it was, or to try and protect his father from a second betrayal since Enugu. Little does he know that he is to single-handedly bear the blows of tragedy, calamity and a secret buried deep within the conflict-wrought family he belongs to.
